Seriously, I used to like country music before 9/11 hits. There were so many good country songs in the Clinton years. Then country music devolved into three catergories: I’m white, I’m trash, I’m dumb and I call it patriotism; I’m whiter, I’m trashier, I’m dumber, anything less is un-American; I’m the whitiest, I’m the trashiest, I’m the dumbest, and I’m proud of it.
Really, besides Taylor Swift and Dixie Chicks, I can hardly recall any one with any memoriable country songs. Country music is so deep in the toilet, not even Joe the plumber can bail them out. Could Obama bring back the golden days of 90s? This country music fan certainly hopes so.
